Pilot study of a culturally tailored diabetes education curriculum with real-time continuous glucose monitoring in a Latinx population with type 2 diabetes
Status: Current
Grant Start: 11/01/2021
Grant End: 11/30/2024
This project proposes a novel delivery of “Companeros en Salud,” a diabetes self–management education and support curriculum via telemedicine coupled with real time continuous glucose monitoring to Latinx populations living with diabetes. Drs. Ferguson and Zamora-Kapoor provide direct scientific guidance and support to study staff in carrying out the proposed research; provide oversight of the diabetes self-management education curriculum implementation and staff training; and participate in data analyses and interpretation and dissemination of study results.
We acknowledge Dr. Ka`imi Sinclair’s lifelong dedication to empowerment and support of vulnerable populations and her initial work on the culturally tailored diabetes education curriculum. We sadly report her passing during her current work on this project.
