Status: Current
Grant Start: 05/01/1997
Grant End: 04/30/2022
WSU IREACH is a sub-contract on the University of Washington’s Alzheimer’s Disease and Research Center (UW ADRC). IREACH’s primary role is to help the UW ADRC with outreach and recruitment in American Indian and Alaska Native populations within the Greater Seattle Area. In the UW ADRC Outreach, Recruitment, and Engagement (ORE) Core, we apply innovative strategies to achieve three overarching goals centered on: recruiting and retaining a well-defined cohort of research participants; serving as the primary regional resource for consumable, accurate, and culturally-informed information on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias diagnosis, management, and research opportunities; and increasing research readiness of underrepresented groups through evidence- and experienced-based outreach and education.
