University of Washington Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (UW ADRC): Native Research and Resource Core (NRRC)
Status: Current
Grant Start: 06/01/2019
Grant End: 04/30/2024
Many American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities view research with skepticism and mistrust, in part because research has historically been done in or on communities rather than with them. As a result, partnerships with Native communities are challenged by distrust of scientific research, misunderstandings, or competing priorities between researchers and community members. In the Native Research and Resource Core (NRRC), we will conduct complementary activities that center on increasing AI/AN representation in the UW ADRC and NACC and expanding access to their data.
We are currently recruiting AI/AN participants to receive $200 for participating in our study. Please call Breanna Jones at 509-339-0920 if you are interested in learning more.
