Dr. Melissa Vera, Goi’pa Lackdaaw, is an Assistant Professor in the WSU College of Nursing and at IREACH. She is a citizen of the Tsm’syen and Yaqui First Nations. Dr. Vera has a PhD in Nursing Science from University of Washington. Her research interests are focused in Indigenous health, climate change, Indigenous methodologies, and decolonized methodologies. Some of her personal interests include kung fu, cooking and baking, hiking, writing poetry, and playing violin and mandolin.
