Raymond “Bucky” Harris, PhD, MFA

Public Relations / Communications Coordinator Senior

Raymond Harris is a content editor at IREACH. He has a BA in anthropology and linguistics, an MFA in fiction writing, and a PhD in English. Over the past 40 years, Dr. Harris has worked in various situations as a writer, an editor, and a writing teacher. One of his science fiction novels, The Schizogenic Man, won the Philip K. Dick Award for 1990. Between 1991 and 1998, he taught courses in expository and creative writing at the University of Washington. He began working with Partnerships for Native Health, a component of IREACH, in 2013. Since then he has co-authored 10 peer-reviewed publications on health and healthcare in underserved populations and has led workshops on scientific writing for IREACH faculty and staff.
