Yarinid Velez Hernandez, MSc, is a Boricua from Puerto Rico. She works as a Research Coordinator for the Institute for Research and Education to Advance Community Health (IREACH). Her research interests include access to medical assistance for minority groups, colonial trauma, population health, bone pathology, and biomechanics. When she is not teaching or working for Partnerships for Native Health, Yarinid loves spending time with family and friends. She is also addicted to coffee, especially Puerto Rican coffee.
