Sage Mednansky is a Research Study Assistant with IREACH. They are a member of the Sicangu Lakota Nation. Sage serves as the site coordinator at the Seattle field office for the URBAn Native Elders (URBANE): Risk and Protective Factors for Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias project. They received their BS from Colorado State University in Psychology with a Concentration in Addictions Counseling, minor in Indigenous Studies, and course work emphasis in Women & Gender Studies. Sage hopes to attend graduate school with focus on connecting how language produces material consequences such as health impacts on Indigenous peoples, communities, and Nations. In their free time, Sage enjoys baking, playing music, and collecting floral-patterned décor.
