Mele Look, MBA

Mele Look, MBA, (Co-Investigator) is the Director of Community Engagement in the Department of Native Hawaiian Health at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii. She serves on the Community Action Board for Native-CHART and as a Project Co-Lead for NEAR’s ‘IKE Kupuna. Ms. Look founded and facilitates the Ulu Network, a community coalition for cardiometabolic health that has grown to include 30 community-based organizations with more than 70 sites that serve Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders in Hawaii and the continental US. Ms. Look has been involved in Native Hawaiian health research for nearly 40 years, conducting pioneering studies on Hawaiian mortality and more recently engaging in initiatives that merge cultural practices and health objectives.
